Otunba was an ICON, a trailblazer, a visionary, entrepreneur per excellence and an all-round winner. He was an inspiration to so many (myself inclusive). There is so much one could learn from his life but above all for me, his fierce love, devotion and commitment to his family and loved ones was what I found the most endearing. No doubt he will be sorely missed by so many, home and abroad. May his legacy last through many generations to come. Adieu to the Grandmaster with the master stroke. E sun re, baba re re.

Baba is indeed an Icon, he will surely be missed whole heartedly. As a child I remember always looking forward to Baba hosting us (Anglican Diocese)for Adura Odun, its always fun visiting his mansion at ijebu ode for the event where we have plenty of food s and drinks well package. Baba Sun re oo, we love you but God loves you more.

It is with a heavy heart that we bid farewell to Otunba Michael Olasubomi Balogun, the founder of FCMB and a true titan of the Nigerian business world. Otunba Balogun passed away peacefully on the evening of Thursday 18th May, 2023, in London, United Kingdom, at the age of 89 years. Otunba Balogun was an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and community leader who left an indelible mark on the Nigerian business landscape. He was a visionary who saw opportunities where others did not, and he had the courage and determination to pursue those opportunities with unwavering focus and commitment. Under his leadership, FCMB grew from a small, regional bank to one of Nigeria's largest and most successful financial institutions. Otunba Balogun's entrepreneurial spirit and business acumen were instrumental in the bank's growth, and he was widely respected by his peers in the industry. But Otunba Balogun was more than just a successful businessman. He was a generous philanthropist who gave back to his community in countless ways. His dedication to education, healthcare, and social welfare improved the lives of countless Nigerians, and his impact will be felt for generations to come. Otunba Balogun was also a devoted family man and a respected community leader. His contributions to the Ijebu community, where he held the title of Olori Omo Oba Akile Ijebu and Asiwaju of Ijebu Christians, were immeasurable. He was a role model and mentor to many, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations. As we mourn Otunba Balogun's passing, we also celebrate his remarkable life and achievements. He will be remembered as a true pioneer and visionary, a leader who made a difference in the lives of so many. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
