We miss a mentor, trail blazer and beacon of investment bank services in Nigeria banking space. Baba planted

As Head, Stockbroking CSL Stockbrokers Limited, over twenty years ago, one of my unwritten JDs was to be Bàbá's Account Officer. This was a 24/7 assignment devoted to Bàbá's equity investments - with attendant material job appraisal implications. Relating with a man, who had all his investment interests, pre-dating my employment, in his head, backed up with archives of endless paper work was everything but an easy task yet one had to follow and flow through. Bàbá, to repeat the obvious, was an epitome of impeccable taste and panache. He gave many of us wings to fly and soar. I recall with nostalgia the listing of FCMB by Introduction on the Floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (as it then was). This professional task, as with that of many listings, has since been given a prominent sofa seat in my CV since then. His never-say-die spirit in pitching for mandates in the Nigerian Financial Markets, I dare say would take a long while to be matched - if at all. Whisper in his ears a prospective offering, before you finish, Baba is on the call to the decision maker - young or old.

A good heart has stopped beating, a good soul ascended to heaven. We part with our beloved Father and Founder in pain. We will never forget you. We will pray for him as he prayed for us. May God give him eternal rest. I will never forget his kindness. May God give him eternal rest.
